WHAT HEART BREAKING :Winnipeg Jets coach Rick Bowness worst decision ever ……….
The Winnipeg Jets confirmed on Tuesday that head coach Rick Bowness will not be starting for the squad in their upcoming match.
Bowness is returning to Winnipeg for treatment after missing the game due to a “minor medical procedure,” the organization announced in a news release.
Bowness will re-join the Jets after his recovery is complete, according to the team.
Up until Bowness’s return, Scott Arniel will act as head coach in the interim.
Arniel informed the reporters on Tuesday that he received a call two nights prior informing them that Bowness was having problems, and the head coach had to spend the majority of the next day in the hospital.
“It is known to them. He will return home and be examined. We’ll observe the outcome. “He might even return at the end of the trip,” Arniel remarked.
“It’s serious, but it wasn’t something that was going to be extended long term.”
He continued by saying that while he is glad Bowness will be alright, he hopes the interim head coach transition goes well.
Jets captain Adam Lowry stated that they are appreciative that the treatment is modest.
We’ve got a terrific supporting staff in the coaches and the leadership group in the room, so hopefully we’ll get off to a great start tonight and put Rick’s mind at ease as he recovers. It’s tough to lose the leader on the bench and in the room and everything, but Lowry said.
The team has dealt with similar situations in the past, according to Winnipeg’s leading scorer, Mark Scheifele, when Bowness missed 13 games early in the season to care for his wife.
