TRADE DEAL :Phillies MLB trade deadline……………

Any further roster additions for the Philadelphia Phillies are probably going to happen around the trade deadline, following a summer that was unexpectedly quiet by their standards.

If nothing catastrophic happens, the Phillies will be the buyers.

This enables the front management to project future needs and determine whether players would be worth sacrificing future assets to add to their team in order to make a late-season push.

Their bullpen is the club’s weakest link despite having a star-studded offense and rotation.

For this reason, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller believes that Philadelphia will acquire four-time All-Star Kenley Jansen from the Boston Red Sox in a transaction that closes before the trade deadline.

Most likely, this is not a major surprise.

Throughout the offseason, Jansen was connected to the Phillies a few occasions, but nothing materialized.

The Red Sox, who had their own terrible offseason, will probably be sellers at the deadline.

Jansen is in his last year of contract and might be acquired by Philadelphia for a reasonable price because he will be a free agent after the season.

This bullpen would benefit greatly from having the veteran.

Miller reports that Jansen has completed 108-of-124 save attempts, excellent for 87 percent, in the last three seasons despite his unfavorable reputation in recent years. When compared to Craig Kimbrel’s 82 percent rate, the Phillies’ prospects are substantially better.
