Top 3 records Carlos Alcaraz can break in 2025

The Big 3 of men’s tennis, Roger Federer , Novak Djokovic , and Rafael Nadal dominated the sport for most of the 2000s. No male player had won more than 14 Grand Slams until they all broke the record and embarked on new journeys to win 20, 24 and 22 Majors, respectively. The only member of the Big 3 that’s going to feature in 2025 will be Djokovic.
However, they have quite left the stage for youngsters like Carlos Alcaraz to flourish. Alcaraz recently became the youngest player in 32 years to win the US Open, and also became the youngest ever year-end World No.1 in the ATP rankings, just aged 19 years and four months (back in 2022).
This season, he continued to lay new ground records in the sport, and there are more to achieve in 2025. Here, we take a look at the Top 3 records the Spaniard can break next season.
Youngest player to achieve a Career Slam
This year, Alcaraz hit form after beating Daniil Medvedev in March to win the Indian Wells Masters. He continued with the momentum and, in June, became the youngest man to win Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces (hard, grass, and clay) after beating Alexander Zverev to win the French Open. The 21-year-old had won his first career Slam at the US Open in 2022 and earned his second at the 2023 Wimbledon.
Alcaraz is now an Australian Open victory away from becoming the youngest player to win a Career Slam. He can accomplish this feat in 2025 when the major event starts on January 12. He will also be the youngest man to reach the historical feat, breaking Nadal’s record which he achieved at the age of 24 at the 2010 US Open.
Youngest player to win five Grand Slam titles
This will be Alcaraz’s most significant record, which may last for a generation. If the 21-year-old wins the 2025 Australian Open, he will become the first person to ever win five Slam titles before his 22nd birthday. The player who currently holds the record is Rafael Nadal, who won his fifth Slam at 2008 Wimbledon at the age of 22.
Despite Federer’s dominance in the early 2000s, he claimed his fifth major at the 2005 Wimbledon at just 23 years. While Djokovic was 25 when he reached the feat at the 2012 Australian Open. Alcaraz, who has yet to reach the Australian Open final in his career, will have to win the title in 2025 to earn the record.
Win the Wimbledon Championship for third straight year
Carlos Alcaraz finished the 2024 season as World No.3 with an impressive 53-13 record. He claimed four titles, including two Grand Slam wins. One of them was the Wimbledon title which he won after defeating Djokovic in straight sets. The Spaniard had triumphed at the SW19 in 2023 after beating the same opponent in a five-set thriller.
He will look forward to triumphing at the All England Club in 2025. If he does achieve that, he will become the first Spanish player to win three in a row. He will also match the likes of Bjorn Borg , Pete Sampras , Federer, and Djokovic in winning three straight titles at Wimbledon.

‘Why is there such a big difference in treatment?’: Simona Halep ‘disappointed…
Iga Swiatek was the latest former World No.1 to test positive for a banned substance. She received back a positive test for trimetazidine (TMZ) and accepted a one-month ban. But this left the tennis community again up in arms including Simona Halep. Halep saw her career which has not recovered since in rack and ruin as she battled through testing positive for the substance Roxudustat to which she received a four-year ban initially. But after fighting, she was allowed to return to action earlier this year. But this and the lack of ban as of right now for Jannik Sinner and also a one month ban solely for Swiatek has opened up a can of worms and in particular for Halep leads to despair of the so-called unfair treatment that she received in comparison. “I’m sitting and trying to understand, but it’s really impossible for me to understand something like this. I stand and ask myself, why is there such a big difference in treatment and judgment? I can’t find and I don’t think there can be a logical answer. It can only be bad will from ITIA, the organization that has done absolutely everything to destroy me despite the evidence,” Halep wrote. “I lost two years of my career, I lost many nights when I couldn’t sleep, thoughts, anxiety, questions without answers… but I won justice. It turned out that it was a contamination and that the biological passport was a pure invention. And I won something else, my soul remained clean!! I feel disappointed, I feel mad, I feel frustrated, but I do not feel evil even now. “I am grateful for the support and unconditional love of those who have been by my side every day. THANK YOU! In all the naughtiness, I also received love because those who offered me love in those moments really knew me! Perhaps this is the biggest victory! As we know well that every morning the sun rises for everyone, but it’s good to rise finding yourself with a flawless soul! And that’s how I am, packed and proud of what I am!”

NHL Department of Player Safety Makes Final Decision on William Nylander’s Potential…
The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced the verdict regarding William Nylander’s crosscheck to the face of Florida’s Nate Schmidt. Frustrations boiled over for William Nylander during Toronto’s 5-1 loss vs. the Florida Panthers on Wednesday, as the Swedish superstar crosschecked Nate Schmidt after losing the puck, and earning himself a double minor for it. It looks like Nylander was trying to simply shove Schmidt and his stick got caught as Schmidt was also going for a shove, leading to Nylander’s stick catching him in the face. But Nylander may have bigger things to worry about than a shove back, as he awaits his verdict from the NHL Department of Player Safety. Notorious for having a less than stellar track record, it comes down to how the league feels about the situation. Last season, David Perron was suspended 6 games for this crosscheck standing up for his downed teammate. Meanwhile, Connor Clifton was given only two games for this headshot to Devils forward Nico Hischier. Well, the league has determined that Nylander’s double minor was enough punishment for the forward, eschewing any further discipline. It’s a good sign for both Toronto and Nylander, as as coming off a 5-1 loss and headed into another tough game in Tampa Bay, Toronto needs all the help they can get. It’s an aggressive side of Nylander we don’t often see, and it shows the frustration that he felt as the team was shut down by the Panthers. It’s clear that he wasn’t too happy with how the team was playing and had enough. This season, Nylander has scored a team-leading 14 goals in 22 games, and has been one of Toronto’s key offensive producers since Auston Matthews has been out of the lineup. FAQ: William Nylander Avoids Suspension For Crosscheck Q1: Why did William Nylander not get suspended? A1: Nylander did not get suspended for his crosscheck on Nate Schmidt because the NHL did not hand out a verdict before their 5 PM deadline and concluded his double-minor penalty was sufficient punishment enough. Q2: Does the NHL suspend a lot of players? A2: Suspensions are on a case by case basis. For the 2024-25 season, we have seen a total of five, including one in the preseason. Last season, the NHL saw 14 suspensions, so they could potentially be on pace to beat that total this year. In closing, the Toronto Maple Leafs avoided a disaster by having William Nylander
