Gary Anderson ‘Would Arguably be the Favourite’ for 2025 PDC World Championship if Played Today Says PDC Statistician

The 2025 PDC World Championship may still be over a year away, but according to PDC statistician, Gary Anderson would be the favourite to win the title if the tournament were played today. Anderson, a two-time PDC World Champion, has been in impressive form of late, and his recent performances have catapulted him to the top of the betting odds.

Anderson’s resurgence in form can be attributed to his dedication and hard work. After a few years of struggling with injuries and form, the Scottish ace has rediscovered his mojo, and his results have shown it. Kempf cites several key statistics that support Anderson’s case as favourite. “Anderson’s average over the past six months is 101.5, which is the highest on the tour,” Kempf explained. “He has also won 75% of his matches during this period, which is a remarkable record. Additionally, his checkout percentage is an impressive 55%, which shows his ability to finish legs and matches.”

 

While Anderson may be the favourite, there are other contenders who could challenge him for the title. Peter Wright, the current world champion, is always a threat, while Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price are also in good form. However, according to Kempf, Anderson’s consistency and recent results make him the standout favourite.
