Dallas Cowboys Insider Unveils Potential Trade Deal for…
The Dallas Cowboys have been the subject of increased trade talk in recent days. The Cowboys have a lot of depth in a few positions on the roster, one of which is the defensive line, as training camp is well underway.
Although it’s never too much to have depth in the trenches, Dallas would undoubtedly be playing from a strong position. Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator, just cannot assign the players enough playing time, which may result in transactions being made.
It’s definitely preferable to trade a player away for some draft capital than to cut them without any compensation. The Cowboys are trying to navigate around that predicament as they determine how many defensive lineman they can keep.
It has been proposed recently that they deal Dorance Armstrong Jr. to the Seattle Seahawks. Armstrong made sense as a trade target because he had a contract that was about to expire and the team had young players that needed to be developed.
A more current update, meanwhile, has cast doubt on the concept. Mike Fischer of Sports Illustrated reports that Seattle appears uninterested in trading for Dallas.
“We believe this is a ridiculous notion—he’s a great player with a reasonable contract. However, following this season, Armstrong’s contract expires. Thus, Is the defensive end so deep for the Cowboys that they would rather deal Armstrong (some have proposed a fourth-round pick) than play him in 2023, let him go undrafted in 2023, and then acquire a pick that is similar to the one being rumored?
