Pittsburgh This season, there will be a significant shift in the NFL thanks in large part to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The NFL owners meetings this week in Orlando, Florida, announced that the trade deadline will be pushed back by one week. The Steelers had suggested putting back the deadline in tandem with the season extension, which was extended by one game.
This means that, as opposed to October 29th as it would have under the previous league bylaws, the 2024 trade deadline falls on November 5th for the current season.
ow, all trades have to be completed by Tuesday the week after the Week 9 games.
Although the Steelers have not participated in trades at the deadline in previous years, general manager Omar Khan has shown initiative this offseason. Most recently, Kahn moved Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles for a pair of draft picks and added Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a sixth round pick, shaking up the quarterback room. Kahn now has a further seven days to negotiate.
