Giannis Antetokounmpo, the standout player for the Milwaukee Bucks, appears to be about to sign a new three-year contract extension after disclosing the terms of the deal on social media.

On social media, Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed that he and the Milwaukee Bucks have reached an agreement on a new three-year contract worth an estimated $186 million, with an additional year’s option.

The Bucks reshared Antetokounmpo’s tweet on X, but they haven’t released an official statement. “The best possible cure for the Mondays” was written in the Bucks’ later-deleted repost.

With the start of the 2025–26 season, Antetokounmpo will be under contract for a minimum of four additional years, and potentially a fifth if he so chooses. Approximately $94.4 million will be his salary for the next two seasons, with an additional $120 million for 2025–2026 and 2026.

Antetokounmpo made his statement as the first group of fourth-year players to agree to contract extensions before the NBA deadline was led by Cole Anthony of the Orlando Magic, Jaden McDaniels of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Deni Avdija of the Washington Wizards.2027.

In the summer of last year, Antetokounmpo declared that he would prefer to wait financially and would not be signing an extension this year. Additionally, he said that before deciding whether to remain longer, he wanted to see how serious the Bucks were to earning another championship.
